IVF Nurse

As an Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Nurse, you will enjoy a professional environment where your abilities can contribute to making a difference in people’s lives. The essential functions and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinates and organizes care for patients.
• Provides and documents clinical care consistently, independently, and collaboratively with physician orders and departmental policies and procedures.
• Evaluates patient’s/significant others’ psychological/educational/psychosocial needs and develops and implements appropriate strategies; provides comprehensive education including explanations of treatments, procedures, and test results and/or makes referrals as appropriate.
• Performs on-telephone assessment of patient’s/significant others’ needs and subsequently intervenes. Calls same day ultrasound patients with further instructions and assists in making appropriate appointments.
• Communicates, collaborates, and consults with patients, physicians, staff, and significant others in a courteous and hospitable manner regarding patient care.
• Assures compliance with The Joint Commission, OSHA, HIPAA, and other quality assurance standards.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature. Attends educational programs and other related activities.
The right person for this role must have the following qualifications:
• Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of Michigan
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Nurse Practitioner certification preferred
• Three to five years OB/GYN experience required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage time and work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions
• Ability to make quality, independent decisions
• CPR trained/certified
