What you’ll be doing:
Intensive In-home: One of the most rewarding jobs in the world is helping to preserve one’s family. Your goal is to support and develop family structure to prevent children from an “out of home” placement, and/or support a family and child that is transitioning back into their home. Using your education, training and skills, you will implement proper therapeutic interventions, offer parent skills training, and serve as a liaison, advocate, and coordinator of other services to increase the child and family’s chances for ongoing success in the home.

School based TDT: As a full time Therapeutic Day Treatment Specialist, you will work in a team environment using your training and skills to implement therapeutic interventions to children/youth in the school system. You will serve as a liaison, advocate, and coordinator of other service offerings, that will better the student’s chances for ongoing success in the school. In this role, you will be working closely with school personnel, students, families and other members of the FPS team, to ensure a supportive environment is always available for our students, families, schools and our employees. This position follows the school schedule, allowing work/life balance. A summer program may be available to work in some regions.
During this pandemic, we are meeting with clients in the community and adhering to all safety guidelines. We also offer Telehealth for clients who are not comfortable with in-person visits.
What we’re looking for:
· Qualified Mental Health Professional - Trainee (QMHP-T) or Children (QMHP-C). If you aren’t registered, you can begin the quick process here https://www.license.dhp.virginia.gov/apply/
· Experience working with children/youth and their families in a behavioral or mental health capacity, preferred. Bachelors/Masters in a human service field required (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Development, Human Services, etc)
· Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and crisis response to our clients.
