New Grad Residency Program

New Graduate Nurse Residency program will start Monday, February 28, 2022. If an offer is made and accepted, candidate must be willing to fulfill a 24-month agreement on the unit for which they are hired, and 36-months with the organization.

Candidates Meeting the Below Criteria are Eligible to Apply:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred; RNs hired with an Associates (ASN) degree have 2 years to complete the BSN degree and 3 months to enroll in a BSN program after hire date.
  • Students graduating December, 2021 are eligible to apply with pending Florida Registered Nurse License or ATT Letter
  • Registered Nurses (RN) with less than 12 months of full-time RN experience (less than 2,080 hours) by hire date.

Must test and pass NCLEX by Monday, February 11, 2022.
The UTower Nursing Residency Program is a comprehensive orientation program that transitions the novice nurse to the role of an advanced beginner in a collaborative learning environment, developed by academic and clinical nursing experts. The Nursing Residency Program is an 8 week competency based program that includes evidence based lectures, online learning modules, human patient simulation and an outstanding preceptorship program. Each nurse is mentored throughout the program by supportive staff, leaders and academic experts.
If selected for Interview you will need to have additional application documents in hand on day of interview.

Additional application documents are to include:
  • Cover letter and Résumé
  • Official Academic transcripts or copy of Nursing Diploma
  • Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (Professors or Nurse Director/Manager preferred)
  • Florida Registered Nurse License or ATT Letter (must test and pass NCLEX before Monday, February 11, 2022.) 
  • Current BLS & ACLS certification(s)

To ensure the safety of our workforce, the University of Miami / Miller School of Medicine / UHealth System requires that all    faculty and staff receive influenza (flu) and COVID-19 vaccinations.  Flu shots are required each flu season; COVID-19 vaccination will be required upon hire. Applicants who accept an offer of employment must provide documentation of a completed COVID-19 vaccine series no later than the start date. Applicants for positions who accept an offer of employment during the flu season, must also receive a flu vaccination prior to commencing work with the University.
