Summary
A fully funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Florian A. Karreth, PhD in the Department of Molecular Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. The research project is focused on the role of PTEN in suppressing melanoma development and progression. The project will involve the characterization of non-canonical PTEN-regulated signaling pathways, analyzing the contribution of these processes to melanoma suppression in vitro and in innovative mouse models, and the development and validation of strategies to therapeutically target these PTEN functions in PTEN-deficient melanoma. The postdoctoral position is funded by a State of Florida Department of Health Bankhead-Coley grant awarded to Dr. Karreth. Additional projects that intersect with the general lab theme of non-genetic drivers in melanoma are also available.
