A Seasonal Police Cadet is an augment of the 19 full time officers of the Rehoboth Beach Police Department. The Cadet spends over 100 hundred in training and receives temporary police powers at that time the cadet successfully passes the required exams.
During the season, the cadet will be assigned to a shift and be responsible for all aspects of law enforcement such as civil and criminal enforcement. Most cadets are assigned to foot patrol and a few are assigned to bike patrol.

Learning outcomes/objectives: The seasonal cadet learns laws of arrest, criminal code, traffic code, patrol procedures and report writing just to name a few. They will learn valuable communication skills and policy oriented policing.
