Forensic Accounting & Investigations Intern - Summer 2022 (23353BR)

As a Intern, you will begin to utilize your educational background as well as your organizational skills as you serve the Firm's dynamic client base. This position assists in problem solving and fact-finding, working side-by-side with more experienced team members who will provide direction, coaching and learning opportunities. This role provides the opportunity to gain an understanding of the business by working on various stages of engagements, including areas of fraud investigation, tracing assets, damages and lost profits calculations, business interruption and insurance recovery analysis and other matters as necessary. You will also gain an understanding of the business by working on various stages of a consulting engagement, including areas of Fraud Analysis, Claims Management, Business Restructuring, Anti Money Laundering, and Computer Forensics.
Essential Duties/Functions :
- Participates in the quantification of client matters, including forensic accounting, fraud investigation, damages & lost profits claims, product recall matters, data breaches/cyber security incidents and other matters, as required
- Participates in engagement fact finding, including the review of financial records and discussions with client contacts
- Analyzes financial information to establish and support client claims
- Prepares financial schedules and client work products to demonstrate key findings and conclusions
- Research new business opportunities at the direction of practice leadership
- Assists with performing data analysis on large datasets
- Assists with preparation of client deliverables
- Provides input to management leaders on suggestions to improve client IT controls and procedures or processes
- Assists in the creation of Microsoft Access applications
- Assists in the documentation of Client flow charts, Application flow charts, ERD Diagrams and Data Dictionaries
- Assists in the loading of client data into backend databases to perform analysis and reconcile counts
- Assists in the creation of BDO Consulting marketing materials
- Other duties as required
Qualifications :
Education:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required

Experience:
- Leadership experience, preferred
- Professional client service experience, preferred

License/Certifications:
- Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA, required

Software:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferred

Language:
- Mandarin, preferred
