Live-In Special Needs Care Professional

We are dedicated to finding the best and most qualified Special Needs Care Providers for our Host Families. Our Host Families are seeking Live-In Special Needs Care Providers who are passionate about working with children with special needs and are looking to make a difference in their lives.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

Becoming a Live-In Special Needs Care Professional means you are matched with a Host Family here in the United States for a duration of at least 12 months. During this time you will work with one family, providing dedicated support for their child/children with special needs. Partnering with parents and becoming part of the child’s multidisciplinary team of therapists, you will help the child to achieve their developmental goals and reach milestones. As a Live-In Special Needs Care Provider, you not only gain practical and professional experience by working alongside experts in the field of a wide range of therapy and support disciplines, but you will also be able to explore a different part of the country while having room and board covered and being paid a weekly salary.

Every family has different needs, but here are some examples of what your responsibilities as a Live-In Special Needs Care Professional may include:

  • Support children or young adults with developmental delays or disabilities in fun and creative ways
  • Work with and become part of multidisciplinary therapy team to deliver extraordinary care
  • Work on daily stretching and exercises that will assist to improve strength, stability, and movement
  • Drive children to school and/or help learn at home
  • Attend therapy sessions and provide feedback
  • Provide support with daily living activities and related care needs
  • Connect with parents for a smooth transition at the end of the day

Requirements:
  • Ability to relocate
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with special needs or being in the process of completing or holding a degree in a special needs' related field. (PT, SLP, OT, Nursing, ABA, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education)
  • Be empathetic, fun, and authentic self
  • Active driver's license
  • Authorized to work in the US
