Postdoctoral Fellow (2987BR)

An exciting opportunity to work on a new approach of cell-based therapies to treat diseases with unmet needs. This work is funded by the CDMRP and will be for at least 2 years.

This project involves the use molecular cloning towards the development of a pre-exposure prophylactic therapies. The candidate will carry out experimental work, design experiments, present findings and write manuscripts.

The candidate must be:
  • Highly motivated and able to work productively in a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with senior colleagues and peers are required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is also required.
  • A great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You will be based in the lab of Mary Premenko-Lanier, who is the Director of Immunology and Microbiology at SRI International.

Qualifications :
  • Ph.D. within the last 2 years in molecular biology, immunology, or related
  • Strong experience in advance molecular biology: molecular cloning, CRISPR-Cas9, lentivirus vectors, bacterial genetics
  • Experience in rt-qPCR
  • Experience in cell culture
  • Basic understanding of immunology
  • The ability to apply for NIH F32 funding
  • Willingness to work in BSL-2 and BSL-3 environments
