Seagate Product Test Engineering Group Summer Intern

Location:  Fremont, CA, US

About our group:

VLSI Product Test Engineering Department is primarily involved in productization of SoC (System On Chip) controllers used in Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and Solid State Drive (SSD). Team works with different cross functional groups within VLSI Engineering Department as well as with different system and drive teams throughout different phases of New Product Introduction (NPI). PTE is responsible for delivering high quality, highly reliable SoC that goes into each of the drives manufactured by Seagate through stringent test plans, controls, processes using Automated Test Equipment (ATE). Works with external leading fab manufacturers, OSATS to enable latest technologies into Seagate SoC manufacturing process. Key engineering group enabling and supporting mass production of HDD/SSD controllers. Tightly engaged with product architects, RTL designers, DFT architects, physical team, verification team, test houses and EDA tool vendors. Group strives for lowest COGS through yield improvement, test time optimization and process improvements.


About the role - you will:

•   Learning and contributing to different aspects of Product Test Engineering especially on fundamentals of semiconductor IC testing, debug and resolution of failures, improvements in test processes and aspects of SoC manufacturing of existing production products
•   Contribute to monitor and evaluate the Process, Yield, DPPM and testing of existing and upcoming products. 
•   Have fun and enjoy working with seasoned Product and Test Engineers. 


About you:

•   Bring your energetic self, be quick on the fly learner, adaptive to team environment, disciplined, self-driven and organized
•   Should have basic knowledge and fundamentals of VLSI, electronics, and programming background
 

Your experience includes:


•   A potential candidate with strong fundamentals of VLSI and digital electronics. Candidate should be good in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, C, C++
•   Programming background 
•   Knowledge of Testers (Advantest Verigy 93K, Teradyne UltraFlex) and/or use of Test and Measurement instruments like scopes, voltmeters, etc is preferred
