Research Scientist - Psychology

The Center for Health Sciences at SRI International is seeking a Research Scientist in the field of Clinical Psychology, who is licensed in California, to join a dynamic team of applied health and neuroscience researchers.

The successful candidate will work on current NIH-funded projects, including longitudinal studies about adolescent brain development, and will be supported and encouraged to apply for independent funding as a principal investigator. The position also includes opportunities to work with study participants, including clinical interviews and monitoring clinical test results, as well as management of research assistants.

The position is in the Human Sleep Research Program, which works in tandem with the Neuroscience Program in the Center for Health Sciences, Bioscience Division at SRI International to conduct research studies about sleep and the brain, using state of the art neuroimaging, EEG, and wearable technology. Major areas of research in the lab are sleep and sleep disorders particularly in women, neurodevelopment, and substance use. The successful candidate will join an internationally renowned lab with a highly multi-disciplinary working environment.
Qualifications :
  • PhD in clinical psychology
  • Additional experience at the post-doctoral level is a plus
  • CA licensed or license eligible
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills
  • Demonstrated research excellence, as evidenced through publication, conference, and grant record
  • Experience with brain imaging and/or polysomnography is a plus
  • Skilled with statistical analysis 
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and independent, as well as team player
