Summer Counselor

We are very pleased to announce that Camp Courageous is once again looking to hire staff for our 2022 spring and summer seasons. If you are looking for a rewarding, adventure-filled job where you will face challenges that will help you better understand what it means to be compassionate, look no further.

Camp Courageous is an ACA certified year-round recreational and respite care located in Monticello, IA. Our camp focuses on providing barrier-free opportunities to children and adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Campers of all ages and abilities will attend camp throughout the year. Campers who attend this camp will have the opportunity to try a wide variety of activities. These activities include, but are not limited to Arts and Crafts, Deep-Cave-Spelunking, High and Low Ropes Courses, Zipline, Canoeing, Bowling, and Swimming. Our mission is to do everything in our power to adapt these activities to any who would like to participate.

Camp Courageous strives to be a truly wonderful and inclusive space where we accommodate all campers regardless of their ability. Counselors at Camp Courageous are paid at a higher rate than any other counselors in Iowa, they also receive housing separate from campers with meals provided.

We are interested in people who have experience assisting children and adults with disabilities, or those who are studying to enter such fields.
