Position Description:
Are you a Pre-Med, Pre-PA, or Pre-Health student still in school and searching for ways to stand out from the competition? Are you a Gap Year student looking to make their application shine before applying to professional school? Getting healthcare experience can be tough when you’re not sure where to begin. That’s where we come in!
As a Virtual Medical Scribe, you get to dive headfirst into the mind of a doctor and figure out how they think, all while developing the knowledge and skills that will propel you into your own bright future as a healthcare provider. It’s essentially paid shadowing (with a few extra responsibilities!)
You will learn medical terminology, medications, disease processes, patient interactions, and more! Did we mention you get to do this all FROM HOME? You’re basically learning medicine in your sweatpants.

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN:
- Virtually follow physicians or other healthcare providers as they see patients
- Document the important details for each appointment in the patient’s chart to include history of present illness (HPI), review of systems (ROS), physical exam (PE), and more
- Assist with lab & imaging orders
- Provide additional assistance as needed to potentially include: tracking lab/imaging reports, document faxes, review prior records, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- No experience? No problem! Go through our paid Scribe Academy where you will learn medical terminology, disease processes, documentation, medications, and more!
- We are looking for scribes/students who are committed to their long-term growth. We ask that you commit to at least 10 months of employment to ensure that you are fully immersed in a healthcare setting
- Availability to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week between the hours of 7 AM - 7 PM. This timeframe is to account for time zone differences, since you might be partnered with a doctor on the sunny beaches of Florida, or the snowy mountains of Colorado! Shifts take place during the week (M-F) and are 8 hours long
- To protect sensitive patient information, we need you to have a private, HIPAA compliant workspace
- We also need you to have a high-speed internet connection that is connected via ethernet cable. (25 mbps download speed or greater)
- Must be authorized to work in the US and living in the US
- Must be 18 or older
IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF YOU ALSO...
- Have a training certification in an EHR/EMR (Epic, Cerner, Athena, etc.)
- Specialty experience in EHR documentation with outpatient clinics
- Strong leadership skills
- Plan on going into medical, physician assistant, or nursing school in the future
