Social Media Specialist - Unto

The purpose of the Advancement Team is to guide people into meaningful opportunities at Unto that help them feel they are a significant participant in expressing the Great Commandment and advancing the Great Commission. Our mission is to engage the hearts and minds of people who have a desire to join God in His work, moving them toward active participation and long-term relationships. The Social Media Specialist for Unto® must be a Cru® Religious Missionary Order staff member in full agreement with Unto’s humanitarian mission and Cru’s emphasis on initiative evangelism and building spiritual movements. This person must have an active and growing faith in Christ, with a proven track record of living a Spirit-filled life. This person must maintain a positive witness for Christ with those whom he or she interacts as part of the job and in daily life.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES • Write copy and manage communication on all social platforms while adhering to brand standards. • Monitor social engagement. • Manage strategy for social media ads. • Track media statistics and KPI. • Manage best practices for maximizing social engagement. • Attend and participate in site and all-Unto prayer, devotional, and staff meeting times.

QUALITIES AND COMPETENCIES • At least two years of experience in a social media specialist role preferred. • Working knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator). • Experience with social media management software such as Hootsuite. • Experience with social media PPC marketing preferred. • Strong writing and communication skills. • Discretion and confidentiality.

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not include supervisory responsibilities at this time.

CHRISTIAN FAITH • Must have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. • Must sign the Cru Statement of Faith without reservation. • Must be able to clearly express biblical principles which are the foundation for the Christian faith. • Must be able to express faith in a manner which encourages those who are not believers to consider making the Christian faith their own. • Must have a history of participation in Bible study and worship.

The staff who takes this position will develop the funding to pay the salary and benefits of this position (training and coaching provided).

JOB DESCRIPTION | ADVANCEMENT • Must be able to describe his or her practice of prayer and understanding of the Holy Spirit’s ongoing work in his or her personal and professional life. • Must be willing to conduct his or her life in a manner which is consistent with Cru standards and expectations, understanding that conduct in the workplace and in the community can reflect on the mission of Cru. It is anticipated that all employees of Cru, throughout the course of their employment, will actively seek opportunities for greater understanding, involvement, and connection with our ministry by taking part in various activities as specified by their leadership. This includes attending periodic Bible studies and other worship expressions that occur in the workplace during the work week.
