Fall '21 Internship | Digital

Civic Nation is currently seeking a Digital intern for its Communications team. The intern, reporting to the Digital Director, will provide digital and social media content support in coordination with the digital team.

ABOUT THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM
The Communications team manages all external-facing communications for Civic Nation and its initiatives. This includes developing communications strategy and messaging, building relationships with media, placing stories, press releases, op-eds, and talking points. In addition, the Digital team for Civic Nation leads digital strategy for Civic Nation. The digital team provides strategy support to all current CN initiatives, including any new projects that join the organization. This includes developing strategy for email, social media, sms, and other digital tools and platforms.

YOUR IMPACT
This position requires strong writing skills for drafting and editing email and social media content. Interns also may be asked to track social media and email analytics for weekly digital reports. Successful candidates will have a positive and professional attitude, be a self-starter, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. This is an exciting position for someone who is a digital native and is seeking a way to use their skills to make real change. Bonus points for anyone who has a passion for graphic design or spends hours sending memes to their friends. 

YOUR EXPERIENCE 
  • A passion for civic engagement and the current political landscape
  • Understanding of the current digital media landscape, including social media trends and culture
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Experience drafting social media or other digital content for an organization (non-profit experience preferred).

COMPENSATION & EXPECTED HOURS
This is a part-time, three-month-long commitment commencing September 8, 2021, and ending December 10, 2021. Interns are expected to work up to 20-hours each week and will be compensated at the rate of $15.20 per hour.
