Assistant Athletic Director

Garrison Forest School seeks an Assistant Athletic Director who can assist with the management and expansion of the Garrison Athletic Department. The successful candidate will enthusiastically embrace GFS’s mission, Core Values and community, and report to the Athletic Director. The position begins July 1, 2021. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include maintaining schedules for all athletic teams including all transportation and officials; assist in maintaining correspondence among all divisions, athletes, coaches, and parents; assist AD with the creation of handbooks and policies; maintain and create content for the Athletic portion of the school's website; assist in the management of the Fitness Center; assist in the organization of events, and perform duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Required Qualifications: 
  • B.A. degree or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in sports or working directly with school-aged children
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and creative writing skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a small office setting 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to work on social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and create unique ideas and content 
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends and travel to events as needed
  • GFS seeks candidates who will contribute to and are committed to diversity and multicultural educational practices. Demonstrated ability working in a diverse community is essential.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Degree in Sports Management, Communications, Marketing or similar field
  • Familiar with TeamSnap
  • Familiarity with website management
  • Familiarity with IAAM, Public or Independent schools. 
  • Coaching experience
