Recreation Aide in Grand Canyon National Park

JOB SUMMARY:Lead and/or monitor a variety of recreation activities, special events and trips. Responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Recreation Center.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate activities and trips per approval of Rec Center Manager.
  • Responsible for the day to day cleanliness of the Recreation Center by performing light facility maintenance and custodial duties including, but not limited to lifting, sweeping, disposing of waste, vacuuming, and washing windows.
  • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Maintain inventory and record use of equipment and supplies.
  • Operate Front Desk and POS register according to Recreation Center procedures and policy.
  • Promote Recreation Center sponsored activities and events.
  • Facilitate trips of varying lengths, both in AZ and out of state.
  • Open and close the Recreation Center as scheduled according to procedure.
  • Assist in enforcing Recreation Center policies to the patrons.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies, including wearing required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and experience with Word and email programs.
  • Willing to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire an Arizona driver’s license and comply with the company Driver Safety Program.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card within first 2 weeks in the position.
  • Ability to acquire CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Previous recreation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and use of fitness equipment.
