Consumer Loan Processor/Funder

About the Position
In the role of Consumer Loan Processor/Funder, under general supervision, you will be expected to follow established policies and procedures while providing administrative support to the processing, closing, post-closing and servicing activities of the Consumer Lending Department. In this role, you will also get the chance to work with talented and knowledgeable individuals in the Credit Union community and is an excellent opportunity for proactive and motivated individual looking to hone his/her business savvy.

In this position, you will:
  • Prepare, collect and review documentation as well as close loan packages/loan files
  • Manage loans that will be assigned to you to ensure that exceptional service standards as well as financial goals are met
  • Review the applications received from loan underwriters and verify the information for accuracy 
  • Review closing documents for accuracy
  • Prepare loan closing documents and executes closing of loans. 
  • Prepare and upload/merge all closing document packages 
  • Identify and review problems in order to take corrective action; communicating with managers and requesting assistance as needed
  • Be responsible for the thorough knowledge of consumer loan products, policies and procedures
  • Be responsible for understanding and complying in an accurate and timely basis with all Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/OFAC requirements that pertain to your position at LFCU and as directed by management and/or the Vice President of Compliance.
  • Perform other support and/or miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have the following:
  • A positive credit standing
Experience
  • Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets.
  • This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
  • This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.
