Outdoor Education Summer Intern

up to 500/week

Are you an outgoing and outdoorsy person? Camp Cavell is the place for you! At Camp Cavell, being an Outdoor Educational Intern isn't just a job, it's an experience. Outdoor Educational Intern are involved in every aspect of camp life, from arts and crafts to kayaking to archery. Staff members who take full advantage of what camp has to offer will find themselves developing both hard and soft skills alike. There will be opportunities to become certified in Archery, CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. During our paid two-week training period, interns will be able to learn skills such as arts and crafts, kayaking, technical tree climbing, fishing, and basic camping necessities. Over the course of the summer, you will develop your leadership, teamwork, and communication abilities. Camp Cavell is the perfect place for current college students, recent graduates, and childcare professionals who are looking for an exciting and hands-on summer.

Responsibilities
  • Plan outdoor activities for groups of campers
  • Lead recreational and educational activities (such as swimming or crafting)
  • Escort and oversee small groups of children
  • Educate campers through games and explorations
  • Set up and maintain equipment (like camping tents)
  • Resolve occasional disputes between children and address behavioral issues
  • Follow and enforce safety guidelines
  • Promote a care for conservancy of the natural world
  • Keep accurate incident logs
