These teaching positions focus on providing specially designed instruction to students eligible for services under IDEA. Positions vary based on student needs and may include services delivered in the general education and/or special education classroom. New Frederick County Public School employees are provided the opportunity to participate in a special education specific induction program offered prior to the start of the school year. Additionally, multiple layers of support are provided by various staff to include; school based team members, special education lead teachers, building level leaders, and special instructional services district level supervisors. Applicants must be eligible for, or hold, a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education - General Curriculum K-12 or LD or Special Education Adapted Curriculum K-12. Candidates must be knowledgeable of teaching methods and strategies and implement specially designed instruction to students with differing abilities. Excellent human relations, interpersonal communications, conflict resolution, organizational and planning skills are required. Must be able to work in a collaborative and cooperative manner with parents, co-workers, school staff and service providers.
The salary range is $46,000 - $85,989 (salary scale 21-22). This position is effective starting for the 2021-2022 school year.
