Realplay Inc, an innovative sports technology firm is seeking interns looking to prepare for a career in the sports industry with a focus on data science and product management. We are seeking a passionate sports fan who wants to be part of an exciting startup that is changing the way athletes, coaches and parents experience their involvement in sports through automated video processing systems.
General Description:
The ideal candidate will have experience working with data entry and data management tools, an understanding of how the mechanics of baseball/softball work, and a supercharged attention to detail. You will gain valuable experience working under the highest level of product management, interact with customers along with c-level executives regularly to solve challenges as they arise on a daily basis.
Duties will include various tasks focusing on data organization, input, and manipulation, keeping notes and writing reports during product management meetings, assisting in project management tasks, and watching a lot of baseball and softball games!
We’re looking for someone who is passionate not just for sports but can get excited about innovating and elegant technology solutions to wicked challenges that have never been solved!
Qualifications: Candidates should be:
- Able to follow directions and work independently as well as with a team.
- Attentive to detail and accuracy and have a strong work ethic.
- Able to meet reasonable deadlines as per our customer’s expectations.
- Able to demonstrate a good basic working knowledge of Excel,
- Having experience in SqL, R, SPSS, are valuable extras.
An ability to perform advanced analysis using vlookup, pivot tables, R + R2, Index/Match and other data management formulas and practices.
Desired Qualifications: Candidates actively working toward a degree in sports business/management, data science, computer science, or sports analytics or related field or with comparable and related experience preferred.
Term: The position will commence on June 15th and conclude on August 15, or as mutually agreed by the Intern and Realplay HQ.
Work Schedule: Hours to be arranged during regular HQ business hours: 9 am – 6. pm ET Mon –Fri
Compensation and Benefits: This is an unpaid internship which may be used to satisfy a school’s requirements for professional work experience in a field related to the Intern’s major or primary program of study. A letter of recommendation or other official document certifying the duties, work product and satisfactory completion of the internship can be issued to the Intern at the completion of the internship.
