Graduate Assistant for Education/Special Education Department

TYPE OF POSITION:  Graduate Assistantship in Professional Education with the Special Education program

SALARY:   $8,500 for academic year/12 graduate credits of tuition waiver
 
DATE OF APPOINTMENT: 08/24/2021.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL LIKELY INCLUDE:
ü Assist in corresponding with Special Education mentors and keeping data on program needs identified through the documented correspondence
ü Assist with research address graduate student needs when managing new special education teaching positions and connecting content to current job expectations
ü Assist with research on Tier 1 and Tier 2 teacher licenses
ü Assist in creating and maintaining D2L web sites for online and web enhanced courses.
ü Maintain a data base for students currently attending graduate level courses in Special Education.
ü Maintain a data base for special education licensure requirements in different states as required by HLC
ü Assist professors with scholarly research as assigned
ü Compile library and/or Internet research as requested by professors.
ü Processing copying requests.
ü Assisting with graduate level education master’s program.
ü All other various assigned duties.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
ü Must be admitted to a master’s program at Bemidji State University
ü Position must have an academic component (teaching/scholarship)
ü Must maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0
ü Research and writing skills necessary to assist faculty in scholarly research
ü In order to drive on behalf of NTC/BSU, in an assigned college/university vehicle or a personal vehicle, the faculty/or staff member must possess a valid Class D driver's license.
ü The applicant should demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations.
