Digital Engagement Ambassador (formerly known as Lancer Line caller)

Longwood University
Digital Engagement Ambassador Job Description (formerly known as Lancer Line callers)

The Longwood University Digital Engagement Center comes together twice a year (once in the fall semester and once in the spring) to assist the Office of Institutional Advancement team in raising philanthropic support for the annual fund. Ambassadors contact alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the University to update contact information, share Lancer news, and solicit contributions. Gifts given through the Digital Engagement Center can be designated to the area of your choice and can help support student programs and activities that further the mission of developing citizen leaders.

Student Employment Opportunities
The Longwood Digital Engagement Center hires Longwood students and is a flexible on campus job opportunity to learn valuable skills while working in a fun and collaborative environment with fellow students. As a Digital Engagement Ambassador, you will be responsible for calling, emailing, texting, or sending videos to Longwood alumni, parents, and friends! All ambassadors must complete mandatory training programs prior to their first session.

Why become a Digital Engagement Ambassador?

1.       IT'S FUN! Take a break from studying and earn cash in an engaging, low-stress work environment. It's a great opportunity to connect with more of your peers and to share meaningful conversations with alumni, friends and parents. Our current ambassadors love to learn about life at Longwood in decades past, and they can hear some great stories! It’s an opportunity to share your achievements and experiences on campus, too.

2.       COMPETITIVE SALARY.  Callers earn $7.50 – $9.50 per hour. Opportunities for raises and promotions are also available.

3.       FLEXIBLE HOURS. Shifts are available on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursdays 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with ambassadors choosing the shifts they would like to work. Ambassadors will have a specific schedule and be required to work at least two full shifts per week. Never work a Friday or Saturday night!

4.       EXPERIENCE. As an ambassador, you will gain invaluable experience by learning to communicate more effectively, networking with alumni, and working as a member of an incredible team while building philanthropy among your peers.

5.       BUILD YOUR RESUME.  Becoming a Digital Engagement Ambassador is a great way to diversify your resume and impress prospective employers with a unique range of skills.

6.       MAKE AN IMPACT.  Have you enjoyed your time at Longwood? Are you a recipient of a scholarship and/or financial aid? Working as an ambassador is a great way to give back to the university and to ensure that current and future students are benefited!

7.       SNACKS, GAMES and PRIZES! If the above reasons weren't enough, you’ll have the opportunity to win prizes, play games, and enjoy snacks!
