(Remote Summer Internship) Quantum Computation/Information Literature Review and Analysis

Join a cross-community movement of learners and researchers collaboratively learning and crowd-sourcing their quantum computing knowledge and expertise. We are an interdisciplinary group of researchers at the University of Michigan, electrical engineering department and school of information, who have been iteratively developing a large-scale online collaborative platform. Our platform facilitates knowledge sharing while getting users involved in large-scale collaborative research. Our primary focus is to collaboratively learn about quantum computation/information by using this book and working with other members of the community to fully comprehend and explain the information in the textbook. 
By joining our community: 
  • This internship is designed to enhance your leadership and communication skills through collaborating and sharing knowledge with a community of enthusiasts about the topic.
  • You will spend the majority of the summer going through this book to learn about quantum computation/information. No prior experience in this field is required.
  • All interactions, task fulfillment, and communications will be online. 
  • We do not have a strict deadline for this position, and you can apply to join our team at any point in your program.

Qualifications  
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for topics related to quantum computation/information.
  • Have a background/displayed interest in at least one of the following through university-level coursework: quantum mechanics, computer science, or information theory.
  • Have passion and commitment to learning the field of quantum computation/information or related topics such as physics and materials science.

Responsibilities  
  • An enthusiasm to write, visualize, and organize learning and research content and collaborate with others within this community. 
  • Motivated to study the suggested textbook as well as other sources, including alternative texts, research papers, conference talks/videos, etc. and share them during our weekly meetings.
  • Lead a small discussion during each meeting on what you have learned through the text and other sources.
