Director, Career Development

The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking a
Director, Career Development
Academic and Career Development Center
This position provides vision and oversight of career development and employer relations activities campus-wide in order to maximize employment, internship, and networking connections for all UNO students and alumni. The Director of Career Development plays an integral role in setting vision and strategy for campus-wide career services and support. In collaboration with the academic colleges, departments, and key career services decision-makers, this position is responsible for building relationships and creating awareness among corporate and community organizations with regard to the career service operations at UNO and the benefits of hiring UNO students and alumni. The goals of this position are to manage the operations of the career development mission while also increasing job posting, recruiting, and hiring activity of UNO students and to generate increased support for the Academic & Career Development Center and the University. This position will manage and oversee all career related events such as Career Fairs, practice interview clinics, on-campus recruiting, and maintain the employer contact database. Supervises the Assistant Director of Career Advising and additional professional staff supporting internships, career programs, employer relations, and college & program support. Reports to the Senior Director, Academic Advising.
 
Required Qualifications:
·        Master’s degree in student affairs, human resource management, psychology, business or related discipline
·        3 years of experience in general HR or university career services environment.
·        Experience with college recruiting, from a higher education or business perspective.
·        Experience in marketing, event planning, and strategic planning.
·        Strong customer service/student development focus and demonstrated personal and professional commitment to diversity.
