Associate Rotation Program - Analytical Track

Intelsat’s Rotational Associate Program is a highly competitive two-year program that provides recent graduates the opportunity to develop their technical skills in the communications industry at the forefront of satellite innovation. As a Rotational Associate, you will work for 8 months at a time, over a two-year period, in three different teams and experience the day-to-day responsibilities of the different career paths and work with different teams as they collaborate to achieve their goals.

Intelsat’s Rotational Associate Program
In this track, you will utilize your education and skills and have the opportunity to make a lasting impact working with the Commercial Aviation Product Management, Financial Planning & Analysis and Deal Management teams. Upon successful completion of the 24 month program, you will be promoted and placed accordingly into a role that will align with and build upon your experience.

You should definitely have:
•   A Bachelor’s or 4-year degree
•   Financial or quantitative background for basic business plans
•   A desire to build product development experience in a fast-moving technology-based organization
•   Understanding of technology and business with an interest in launching software or services in partnership with engineering team
•   Awareness of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), Lean, Agile principles and methodologies
•   A desire to build experience with tools like Jira, Miro, Jama, Kanban & Scrum boards
•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
•   Able to analyze operational data and develop timely and accurate presentations of the results (including design of informative tables and graphs where appropriate)
•   Strong organizational skills required, including the ability to manage priorities and complete multiple projects simultaneously
•   Able to work cross-functionally to analyze reporting requirements and develop an efficient process to meet them
•   Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills
 
It would be nice if you have:
•   A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
•   Passion for technology
•   Intern experience in airline industry, eCommerce, or high availability enterprise level Software As a Service (Saas) software products
•   Background in software development
•   SAFe for Teams, SAFe Scrum Master, Leading SAFe training and/or certification
•   Exposure (academic or experiential) in software development / product management tactics such as Behavior Driven Development, Test Driven Development and Product Needs Analysis

Months 1-8 as an Associate Product Owner
You will help define and enable Intelsat Inflight technology solutions that transform airline operations and enhance our position in the marketplace. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to enhance Intelsat Inflight offerings, delivering value for airlines and strengthening our partnerships with aerospace OEMs and third parties.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
•   Build, edit, and maintain the Team Backlog to iteratively deliver software and maximize the value of the products created by the team
•   Contribute to the Program Backlog by partnering with Product Managers for development of an epic and contributing to the organization’s vision and roadmap
•   Participate in story definition, provide the clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates and sequencing, guide the team on defining their PI objectives, drive commitment on external dependencies, and represent the team plan, commitments, and risks at readouts and management review
•   Attend regular Agile team meetings including daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint planning and retrospectives. At grooming sessions, the Associate Product Owner will vertically slice features into user stories so that the team can deliver value incrementally
•   Validate that the stories meet the feature acceptance criteria, ensure the appropriate level of automated testing has been created, and that the feature achieves the Definition of Done (DoD)
 
Months 8-16 as an Associate Financial Analyst 
You will help the Business Unit analysts in gathering the data, producing forecast model, assist with the deliverables and the analysis of the business units forecasting. 
Some of your responsibilities will include:
•   Produce monthly financial results packages for budget holders and analyze business drivers of material variances; work with BU analysts, manager, and partners to establish action plans to address them
•   Asist FP&A team to develop revenue forecast and budget in coordination with business partners and sales directors. Consolidate, analyze, revise and present submissions to manager
•   Periodically update financial forecasts based on new information or changes to the business
•   Support development of long-term strategic plan
•   Work with Accounting to develop necessary accruals and ensure reported results accurately reflect true expenses and comply with GAAP standards
•   Perform ad hoc financial analyses to help drive revenue structure improvement
 
Months 16-24 as an Associate, Deal Management
You will support Sales and Product staff globally by providing recommendations for "non-standard" deal terms (e.g., pricing, technical requirements, contractual variances).
Some of your responsibilities will include:
•   Engage with sales
•   Work with product team to understand new services
•   Collaborate with finance for revenue recognition requirements
•   Work with pricing team for specific deals and products 
•   Dive into SFDC details and check for accuracy
