Staff Software Infrastructure Developer, Computer Vision and Remote Sensing

The Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Group at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is looking for Software Infrastructure Developers to join our team operating at the forefront of Computer Vision technology applied to satellite and drone imagery. We collaborate with world-renowned universities in computer vision, photogrammetry, and remote sensing to find innovative solutions to difficult real-world problems in United States Intelligence and Defense communities. Software Infrastructure Developer, Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Position highlights:
  • Support development of cloud-computing software frameworks for distributed, parallelized big data analytics
  • Develop both Windows and Linux-based applications
  • Automate provisioning of virtual machines for cloud and local (on-premises) data centers
  • Create or update Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment / DevSecOps pipelines
  • Address security findings found in SAST/DAST/Image Scans
  • Integrate user authentication and other access controls

Software Infrastructure Developer, Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Required qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizen with eligibility to apply for and hold a U.S. security clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment)
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or similar technical field
  • Demonstrated experience with containerization and infrastructure as code technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift (2-4 years with BS or 0-2 years with MS).   • Expertise in Python and Linux shell programming
  • Experience in the Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud environments
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitLab, Atlassian suite, or equivalent)
  • Linux experience (RHEL, CentOS)
  • Team player with strong presentation and written/oral communication skills

Software Infrastructure Developer, Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Additional Desirable Qualifications:
  • Programming experience in C++, or C
  • Familiarity with information assurance/information security activities (e.g. server hardening and security control implementation)
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Familiarity with SonarQube, Fortify and TwistLock
  • AWS, Microsoft, or CompTIA Cloud Certification
  • Experience developing and deploying software to DoD IA requirements
  • Experience working on intelligence and DoD programs
  • Prior/existing security clearance
