Furniture & Interior Sales Specialist

I.            POSITION SUMMARY
               
The Furniture & Interior Sales Specialist will develop strategies to grow furniture sales within existing accounts and identify and close new business opportunities. Successful candidates will also build strong relationships with the commercial real estate and the architectural & design communities.
               
II.           POSITION EXPECTATIONS
               
  • Make sales and relationship calls to existing and potential clients; constantly seeking opportunities to develop sales.
  • Actively participate in networking activities, including networking with local associations, industry events, trade shows, and other forms of business development activity.
  • Offer personalized service to clients, understand and promote the benefits, capabilities, and advantages of working with The Supply Room to generate sales activity.
  • Serve as a resource and partner with clients to discover the best solution to meet their needs and exceed their expectations, including making product and design recommendations based on scope and budget.
  • Maintain and report on projects, leads, and other sales activity.
  • Achieve established sales and gross profit targets.
  • Prepare complete and accurate customer quotes and proposals to clients that are ready for order entry.
  • Set accurate expectations with clients and collaborate with Support and Operations teams to successfully fulfill a client's objectives and project goals.
  • Stay up to date on the trends within the marketplace and manufacturer product updates.
  • Build trust and inspire loyalty with our customers.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. 
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
               
III.          SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
               
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
               
IV.         MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Reliable transportation is required to travel to and from customer locations.
               
Education, Certifications and /or Licenses:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
               
Experience:
  • Experience in a sales consultant/interior design capacity, preferably in the contract furniture industry or within the commercial real estate industry.
 
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Working knowledge of commercial office space planning.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and fellow employees.
  • Must be a highly motivated to learn and grow, self-directed, and proactive.
  • Reliable and responsive.
  • Competitive spirit.
  • Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills.
  • Excellent presentation, listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of ADA and general code compliance.

  • Manage and organize time to meet objectives and deadlines.
