Senior Program Associate
The National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) advances justice by defending the rights of
children and improving the systems impacting their lives. We focus on complex
challenges that disproportionately impact children and communities of color and on
solutions that require multiple public systems to change their policies, practices and
culture.
The Reproductive Health Equity Project for Foster Youth (RHEP) is a public-private
collective impact campaign coordinated by NCYL, dedicated to end inequitable
reproductive health outcomes for youth in foster care and support the healthy sexual
development and bodily autonomy of young people. We bring together public agencies
and community partners to change mental models, build trust, develop and implement
innovative programming and policy, and transform systems and community responses.
Position
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Health, the Senior Program Associate
will support NCYL’s work as the convener and driver of RHEP. This is an exciting
opportunity for an ambitious, organized, resourceful individual to join a high functioning
team that works with a diverse group of youth and community partners.
Essential Functions
• Support development of the RHEP strategic plan and annual and project workplans.
- Manage projects with multiple contributors and multiple deliverables and deadlines with high level of communication about implementation and progress
- Drive implementation of workplans that include multiple streams of work.
- Manage grants including researching, writing, reporting, budgeting, and relationship management.
- Plan and facilitate RHEP leadership, team, and workgroup meetings.
- Manage relationships with external partners.
- Ensure community voice is integrated in the project.
- Plan and implement RHEP events, including conferences, youth convenings, webinars, and listening sessions, in collaboration with the team.
- Represent NCYL and RHEP at national, state and local meetings and events.
- Produce high quality program and promotional materials.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience managing the implementation of projects with
- multiple contributors.

- Commitment to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Experience working with young people of Color and/or with experience in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems.
- Familiarity with child welfare, reproductive health equity.
- Knowledge of and experience using meeting facilitation tools and techniques to ensure meetings are efficient, equitable and inclusive.
- Experience as a dynamic public speaker and developing engaging presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects with diverse partners
- and stakeholders.
- Experience with strategic planning models and tools.
- Experience with online project management systems, such as Asana or AirTable, and video conferencing systems such as Zoom, Webex or Google Meet.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and other technologies.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: conference or event planning, advocacy campaigns, community organizing, public administration or public policy.
- A friendly demeanor with a sense of humor.
Location, Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time exempt position. NCYL provides competitive salary at $70,828 NCYL
