UX & Market Research Intern

JOB DESCRIPTION
In Udemy’s insights-driven culture, researchers play a key role in leading and inspiring initiatives that further our mission of improving lives through learning. We’re currently a team of five UX and market researchers with a goal to ensure each department has the right insights to develop innovative products and messaging that resonates with our customers. We’re looking for a rising UX researcher who wants to work with us to help bring insights about our users to the rest of the Udemy organization. Come join our small but mighty UX research team for the summer! 

How will this work?
You will work closely with a researcher on our team who will help mentor and guide you through the research process. Ideally you’ve had some experience with similar projects before, but this is also expected to be a learning and growth experience for you. At the beginning you will shadow other researchers as you learn the ropes of research and the business, but as you gain experience you will manage and run 1-2 of your own projects. The types of questions you may explore during the internship include:

How to identify target markets internationally that present strong opportunities for Udemy's growth?
How is online learning changing across global markets and where does Udemy fit within that landscape?
How effectively does our advertising inform visitors about Udemy?
What is the best name for a new product? 
How can we leverage app notifications to encourage richer interactions between instructors and learners? 
What new areas of content expansion should we invest in?
What would resonate most with students in different markets?

Specific Responsibilities:
Employ a mixed-methods approach to gathering both generative and evaluative feedback on our mobile and desktop-based designsMethods may include: survey, in-depth interviews, usability testing, etc.

You will develop and manage the project(s) from start to finish - getting experience in recruitment, hypothesis generation, test protocol design, research execution, synthesis, and effective communication of the key findings to internal stakeholders 

Qualifications:
Juniors and seniors, and/or Master’s students pursuing a degree in marketing, statistics, human-computer interaction, human factors, cognitive psychology, sociology, anthropology, or a related and transferrable field.
Recent graduates who are within three months of their graduation date will also be considered.
