Development Assistant

Immediate opportunity to learn from a seasoned development professional in an emerging non-profit foundation. Skills required include graphic design, blog writing, website and social media management, word processing, and general office duties. Trial period of $15 per hour for part-time/3-5 days a week, transitioning into full-time ($35,000/year). If you are looking for an exciting, challenging opportunity, this is the job for you! I. The role is a multifunctional, media centered position that requires an individual who can multitask all the "back end" functions of a development office.

A. Design graphics for digital (Instagram, Facebook, MailChimp E-Blasts) and print (donor magazine, informational pamphlets, etc.)
B. Being technically "savvy" to handle the demands of a digital donor base, the sending of e-blasts, the mailing of appeals, and other such communication needs.
C. Being the major source for keeping the website up to date via Weebly. This requires the ability to access the site and make changes as directed and/or work with any outside vendors to enhance the website's visibility. Additionally writing blog posts to promote foundation news.
D. Having the knowledge and technical knowledge to post on social media as new research is published and foundation happenings occur to keep supporters in the know.
E. Record keeping (both digital and paper).
F. Keeping the central calendar.

II. Attributes of a Development Assistant.

A. Must have a "can do" attitude to take ownership of the role.
B. Needs to have a work ethic that takes deadlines seriously and takes the time necessary to complete assigned tasks.
C. Must be flexible about moving between on-going routines and dealing with "emergency" assignments and spontaneous circumstances.
D. Needs to have a "the customer is always right" attitude when dealing with donors and the general public.
E. Must have or be able to develop the telephone skills and face-to-face interaction skills necessary to maintain a professional office atmosphere.
F. Will accept other duties as assigned.

IV. Has a working relationship with the Board Chairman and Board Members, as well as with staff from Dr. Finger's office.
