Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer

Jefferson County Schools is located in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle. The schools district is one of the most diverse and represents one of the top academic districts in the state of West Virginia. The district includes 17 schools, employs more than 1,100 staff members and enrolls approximately 9,000 students. With close proximity to Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Baltimore there are many opportunities and reasons to join the One Jefferson Family.


To serve as treasurer and administer the financial affairs of the school system; to serve as custodian of all financial assets; to be responsible for the preparation of the annual budgets; to prepare monthly and annual financial statements for all funds maintained by the school system; to invest all available funds for either short or long term periods in interest-bearing accounts and to determine the amounts of such investments at the best return available; to be responsible for payrolls and related functions; to be responsible for accounts payable; to oversee the auditing of accounts of the individual schools and ensure the resolution of any findings noted. To prepare requested reports and provide/present to the Board. To collaborate with members of the leadership team to facilitate programmatic needs.

Competitive salary commensurate with experience and education level to include index stipend.
