Information Security-Infrastructure Intern
The Information Security Intern is responsible for assisting the Infrastructure Information Security Officer (ISO) with many components of the Agency's information security program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with infrastructure-related security requests such as firewalls, McAfee, and shared folders security group.
- Run Vulnerability and Compliance Reports in Security Center (Nessus) and analyze the reports.
- Work with Information Security Officer (ISO) Office and POCS our Quarterly Security Vulnerability scans.
- Work on Security Matrix
- Work with vendor to update Security Document
- Work with ISOs on Updating applications and servers in the system of record.
- Work with ISOs on other Security Tool (Varonis and McAfee ePO).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must uphold, enforce, and abide by all VDH Information Security policies.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Knowledge of OWASP – Web Security, NIST 800-53, TCP/IP, Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, web design (HTML or WYSIWYG editor), Operating Systems, and Databases.
- Preference given to students enrolled in academic programs such as Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or Management Information Systems major
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Familiar with and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in teams
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
