Physical Scientist GS-15

Are you an expert in condensed matter physics who dreams of pioneering research that leads to the discovery and understanding of functional materials with novel properties for energy applications?

Join one of the most influential and cutting-edge agencies!

The U.S. Department of Energy is seeking a Program Manager to advance our mission by helping to lead our respected Experimental Condensed Matter Physics (ECMP) program in the Office of Science, Basic Energy Sciences, Materials Sciences and Engineering Division. The ECMP program provides research funding to support a diverse range of experimental research related to condensed matter physics and materials science. The Program Manager conceives, justifies, plans, initiates, manages, and coordinates all aspects of the program.

Improving the understanding of the electronic behavior of materials on the atomic scale is relevant to the DOE mission, as these structures offer enhanced functional properties and could lead to dramatic improvements in technologies for energy generation, conversion, storage, delivery, and use. The ECMP program also supports basic research in semiconductor, spin-based, and other materials of interest for next generation electronics technologies and YOU can help to pave the way!
