Admissions Specialist

DESCRIPTION


This position will work within the Assessment and Referral Department. For the candidate who is an intern, the focus of the position will be conducting intake assessments and connect potential customers to services here at the center and in the community. Upon becoming fully licensed, the job duties will include developing a provisional psychiatric diagnosis and connecting customers to services. The fully licensed candidate will also provide CANS 2 Assessments for children in the foster care system. This position may also be a part of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team. There is a minimum of 60 face to face hours per month required for this position. This position requires embracing the teamwork concept as well as trauma informed care principles.
It is expected the person in this position will become fully licensed within 20 months of hiring.
This position is directly supervised by the MH Program Administrator for Admissions.


QUALIFICATIONS


Requires a Masters Degree in Counseling or psychology from an accredited college or
university. Must be an LPC or Social Work Associate and within 20 months of acquiring LPC license or 20 months of acquiring LCSW. Must be eligible to be certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (internal certification). Previous experience in assessment, referral and diagnosis in the mental health field preferred. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and be an insurable driver.
