Content Writer

We’re a leading nonprofit who works closely with healthcare officials and healthcare systems across the country. In this position you’ll be responsible for the conception, copy, and execution of content across multiple channels. The content writer will be expected to develop a strong knowledge of and summarize multiple organizational products and services.
Responsibilities of the Content Writer:
  • Collaborate with director of crisis communications and other members of the communications team to define goals, gather information, and finalize writing projects
  • Help write COVID-19 blogs, statements, briefs, and web content for key audiences
  • Review and copy-edit written documents and develop compelling COVID-19 stories
  • Collaborate and participate in brainstorming, creating, and implementation of delegated projects
  • Assist with the creation of digital toolkits
  • Assist with the development of web content and other editorial elements to support our public health members and partners
  • Write in multiple styles, ranging from formal press releases to informal social media posts, while maintaining AP Style
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills are required
  • The ability to understand an audience and write to the audience’s interest is a must
Qualifications of the Content Writer:
  • Bachelor's degree (English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications preferred)
  • 1-2 years relevant writing skills (experience in a public health environment preferred)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent portfolio of work
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
