Marketing Associate

Marketing Associate

Virginia Repertory Theatre, Central Virginia’s largest non-profit, professional theatre company with four distinct venues, an educational touring arm, and a focus on community outreach, is seeking a Marketing Associate. The Marketing Associate is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Director of Communications who will support the marketing efforts of the theatre for all mainstage productions, touring shows, educational programs and leadership initiatives. Social Media
·       Develop, schedule, implement, and manage our social media strategy on all Social Media platforms including Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/LinkedIn
·       Create content including copy, art, video and photos to ensure content is informative and appealing, and within Virginia Rep brand standards
·       Measure the success of all social media campaigns, report on user engagement, and suggest content optimization.
·       Develop and execute influencer/thought leader marketing strategies and creative campaigns, and brainstorm new approaches to attract influential people who can impact potential ticket buyers
·       Strategize keywords and budget, place targeted AdWords for each production, expire old AdWords each time a show closes

Events/Community Relations
·       Coordinate Community Ticket Grants program
·       Promote program via boosted posts on social media
·       Collect and review applications with Group Sales Director
·       Maintain communication with applicants in a timely manner, set up reservations, send out reminders, thank you letters and demographic surveys
·       Free-View Lotteries
·       Promote lottery on social media
·       Collect and maintain lottery applicants in Google Docs
·       Select 25-50 winners, contact winners, create ticketing account, book tickets
·       Cast Parties
·       Coordinate budget/location/food/beverages for Opening and Closing Night parties
·       Attend and manage parties, coordinate catering, location, beverages, clean up
 
 Admin
·       Create and maintain (with Marketing team) all digital files for shows (ads, playbill, press releases, specialty fliers)
·       Participate in weekly Marketing Meetings
 
Job Requirements
 
·       Experience as a Social Media specialist or similar role, experience within an ad agency or business preferred. Knowledge of theatre industry a plus
·       Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices
·       Must be able to analyze and report on the success of digital ads/content through available social media metrics.
·       Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software especially Word and Excel required
·       Experience with Tessitura ticketing system and Adobe CS is a plus
·       Excellent multitasking, critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills required
·       Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
·       Must be available to work flexible hours as this job, and the theatre business, involves frequent evenings and weekends
·       Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field preferred but not necessary

This position is eligible for annual and sick leave, participation in company health, life, dental and vision insurance plans, as well as our 403(b) retirement plan. Starting salary is $24,000-$28,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
