Outdoor Education Cabin Leader

OUR MISSION

Thousand Pines Outdoor Science School exists to help students learn, grow, and experience the outdoors.

WORKING FOR TPOE

Staff travel from all over the world to be a part of our Outdoor Education team. Being in operation during the school year, Monday through Friday, we are privileged to teach 5th & 6th-grade students of varying backgrounds visiting from all over Southern California. Being a leader here will grow your skillset quickly as our program gives both students and staff opportunities to LearnGrow, and Experience the outdoors in a hands-on environment.

Staff lead hikes, teach science curriculum, and help students develop their self-confidence through various challenges, including archery, team building, a climbing wall, night hikes, and more. We have a lot of fun conducting activities such as dance night, camp songs, skits, campfire stories, and games.

When students leave the city and technology to come to the mountains for a few days, our team witnesses growth in the students, which is a rewarding feeling. You will quickly notice our welcoming culture, and by the end of the season, you will have made life-long friends.

While most of our students come to our main site in Crestline, our mission includes running programs across California and even into Oregon. Traveling is usually done on 1-4 week rotations, including housing and meals. During time off there are opportunities to explore not just the camps around you but the parks, forests, beaches, and cities nearby too.
