Digital Designer

JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Digital Designer to design world-class interactive experiences and social content. You should have in-depth knowledge of digitally focused graphic design, including mobile/responsive techniques, modern UI/UX standards, and how these things translate to digital marketing collateral. You should also have experience executing marketing-related projects from conception to production, including websites, social content, and immersive user interfaces. Ultimately, this role involves bringing powerful and engaging patient stories to life in the digital arena. Snow is the leader in patient storytelling within the pharmaceutical industry. First and foremost, we advocate for patients and help tell their real-life stories in the context of live events, videos, web experiences, and other creative mediums. This role involves being a key creative leader in conceptualizing and executing new ways to tell patient stories.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Must be able to perform the following essential duties and functions:
 
  • Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery
  • Design original pieces, including websites, social content, and other digital collateral
  • Review junior designers’ work to ensure high quality
  • Apply best-in-class typography techniquesGenerate ideas for digitally focused concepts
  • Increase user-friendliness in digital experiences
  • Maintain brand consistency throughout all projects
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure deadlines are met
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and tools
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and strategists
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Proven work experience as a Senior Designer, Graphic Designer, or similar role
  • Portfolio of completed design projects
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Sketch
  • Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts, and layouts
  • Attention to visual detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team
  • BA, BFA, or BS in design, visual arts, or relevant field
  • Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision)
 
 
Weekend & Night Work:
 
Although your day-to-day work should primarily take place during regular office hours, there will be occasions when you are required to work late into the evening and/or over the weekend. Candidates selected for the Digital UI/UX Designer position should expect that the workload and nature of the work will require hours that may extend past the normal business hours of the company.
 
 
Flexibility:
 
The core business hours that you work may change based on business needs and shifts may change from time to time.
 
 
Collaboration/Teamwork:

The size and nature of our company will require that you work in collaboration with people in other departments. Candidates must demonstrate their willingness/ability to step into other roles as needed to drive the success of the company. Candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to be a contributing member of a team that has goals that are broader than an individual job description or function.
 
 
Language Skills/Communication: 

Candidate must have the ability to read and comprehend general documents relating to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry that include but are not limited to: medical education, medical periodicals, clinical trial data, package inserts, medical procedures, industry regulations, and reimbursement/tax guidelines. Candidate will have demonstrated their ability to effectively and professionally communicate with managers, clients, customers, Patient Ambassadors, and the general public. Working with patients requires the candidate to exercise discretion and empathy as patients are living with chronic conditions. Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.
 
 
Patient Privacy:

The core of our business is working with patients. It is most likely that you will come in contact with Personal Consumer Information (PCI) of patients living with chronic illness. It will be required that you take training courses that include, but are not limited to:
  • Snow Policy Training
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Adverse Event (AE) Reporting Training
  • US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Training
 
 
 
 
 
 
Computer Skills:
 
Candidate must have excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows and potentially Mac environment to include:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Sketch
  • Digital prototyping tools such as InVision, Figma, or Zeplin  
 
 
Reasoning Ability:

Candidate will have the ability to identify and define problems while applying effective problem-solving skills through collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Candidate will have the ability to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Candidate will have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Candidate will be capable of applying industry benchmarks to create standardized practices. Candidates selected for the Digital UI/UX Designer position are expected to take responsibility for a number of additional tasks, which include, but are not limited to:
  • Creation of strategic and succinct PowerPoint presentations/Word documents based on ambiguous and often absent data/information
  • Articulation in verbal and written form the capabilities of the corporation and how they can support clients’ needs

Education and Experience:
 
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and three to five years of related experience and/or training preferred.
