Are you looking for a position that offers mentorship in a variety of areas of veterinary medicine, while paying an associate veterinarian salary? This position is for would rotate through different areas of our hospital, specifically urgent care doctor to help manage ICU cases, see daytime emergencies, and relief coverage for other doctors for their appointments, surgery or ER shifts. There are currently two associate vets employed in this position and we are looking to add a third. This position would offer excellent mentorship to new graduates wanting to learn about emergency medicine, surgery and exotic animal medicine under the support and guidance of experienced veterinarians. Northwood Animal Hospital is a 40 year AAHA-accredited small animal general practice and a 24 hour emergency hospital, treating dogs, cats, exotics and wildlife. Our overnight hours are staffed by dedicated full time veterinarians and technicians.   Our focus is to provide high quality, compassionate veterinary care for our patients while educating clients. 
The hospital has state of the art diagnostic and surgical equipment. We perform advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Some of our equipment includes Cornerstone paperless record keeping system; Sedecal digital x-ray machine (D/R); ultrasonic dental unit with high speed hand piece; digital dental x-ray; Companion Therapy Laser; Philips ultrasound machine; PC-Vet Chek ECG; in-house laboratory including Abaxis coag machine; Idexx Procyte Dx and Catalyst Dx; VetScan iStat; Idexx Progesterone testing; Sedivue UA machine; Cardell anesthetic monitoring; Heska IV pumps; Ellman Cautery unit; and an Airnetics Oxygen Generator. 
Northwood is a drop-off point to provide emergent care to wild animals for St. Francis Wildlife, a local wildlife rehabilitation group. We are home to CARE (Companion Animal Rescue Endeavor), a 501(c)(3) set up to allow us to provide medical and surgical care to relinquished, stray or orphaned companion animals that our doctors feel can be rehabilitated and re-homed.
Tallahassee is the capital of Florida and is home to the Florida State Seminoles. We are 45 minutes from the Gulf coast with a climate and geographical location ideally suited for a variety of outdoor activities including beach trips, hiking, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking and running.
Salary will be commensurate on experience with base of $70,000-92,000. Prosal so most our doctors make more than their base depending on shifts worked and production.
