Collaborative Neuroscience Literature Review and Analysis (Remote Internship)

Students, educators, and researchers, join our large-scale interdisciplinary movement to collaboratively develop, visualize, and organize learning and research materials in your field of interest online for improving education. We are an interdisciplinary group of researchers through the University of Michigan who have been iteratively developing an online research and learning community called 1Cademy. 1Cademy is a research and information sharing platform where subjects and topics are consolidated, the research is clearly cited, and users are able to submit suggestions to improve or update information. Users share what you learn while studying or researching on 1Cademy to improve learning for yourself and others.

We are looking for interns to initiate new communities (regarding topics of your interest) and find connections between different areas. In this internship you will:
  1. Gain experience using crucial skills in research (literature analysis, summarization, making connections between disciplines)
  2. Develop presentation skills and learn how to give concise descriptions of research and topics in neuroscience.
  3. Analyze literature and research to help contribute to research and education.
  4. Learn concepts and theory in neuroscience
  5. Develop a positive community-wide reputation for your engagement (over 500+ users from various disciplines) which is displayed on our leaderboard.
  6. Be publicly accredited for any work you produce for years to come.
  7. Individual contributions will be available through google search and cite your name (and other search engines)
Qualifications
  1. Understanding of basic concepts in neuroscience and ability to filter information into digestible chunks.
  2. An enthusiasm to write, visualize, and organize learning and research content and collaborate with different communities from a large spectrum of schools and disciplines.
  3. Curiosity for other types of fields, and a readiness to learn more about them.
  4. Experience and willingness to work in large-scale collaborative environments.
Responsibilities

  2. Gather information from Behavioral Neuroscience ed. 6, Breedlove & Watson
  3. Give presentations over what you have researched in weekly meetings for further discussion.
  4. Generate ideas for future research in the field and point out areas of missing information or a gap in research.
  5. Actively utilizing 1Cademy to refine and properly structure the information.
  6. Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings for the Neuroscience 1Cademy group.
  7. Regularly communicate and respond to communications with the group through Microsoft Teams.
