Summer Associate - Offshore Development

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 
Ocean Winds is seeking an enthusiastic individual with an interest in learning about the offshore wind energy industry in New York and New Jersey region. The summer intern will have the opportunity to work on the Business Development Team for the New York Bight Offshore Wind Project, and assist early stage project activities in the emerging US offshore wind market. This summer position (10 weeks) is anticipated to begin June 7, 2021. This is a paid internship. This position will be partially remote until further notice.  
 
The ideal candidate should be adaptable and collaborative, with a business or technical background. Prior experience in the renewable energy or wind industry is helpful. Candidate should demonstrate desire and willingness to learn about the wind industry and work with a multinational team to establish a business case for offshore wind.   
 
Main accountabilities:
 
  •  Support a multinational team and Business Unit on offshore wind project development.   
  •  Help prepare analysis and business case for new offshore wind project. 
  •  Work on market intelligence reports and competitive analysis.  
  •  Support development of business case for offshore wind.  
  •  Assist in collecting and managing data pertinent to offshore wind development. 
  •  Assist in outreach to stakeholders 
  •  Assist with research of industry topics, events, and trends.    
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.  
 
Minimum qualifications:
  • Current undergraduate (Junior or Senior) or graduate student
  • Ability to work US East Coast hours
  • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred

Physical demands & working conditions:
