Gymnastics Instructor (Summer Camp)

About this Job

As a brand NEW, "startup," summer camp, Camp Somerset for Girls presents a unique job opportunity for creative and spirited individuals who want to be part of building a summer camp culture and community from the ground up. We seek independent thinkers who are self-starters looking for more than just a summer job but an actual seat at the table.

We believe that summer camp should be the most special time of year for children and it is our responsibility to make sure that every young girl feels empowered, encouraged, and inspired to be her very best self.

Counselors live with a particular bunk and age group and also spend part of their day at an activity area of expertise. Counselors are expected to be role models who must be fun-loving, creative, patient, and genuinely concerned for the welfare and development of the campers.

Counselors will work with 2-3 other counselors in their cabin and receive 5 days off during the summer.

All Somerset counselors must be at least 19 years old or have completed one year of college or post-high school graduate work. A friendly disposition, good attitude, and desire to work with children and help them grow their skills and self-confidence are a must!

About Camp Somerset for Girls

It’s been nearly a century since Camp Somerset for Girls welcomed its first campers to East Pond in Smithfield, Maine, and three decades since it sadly closed.

Camp Somerset for Girls reopened in 2018, combining extraordinary history and tradition with a new team of experienced directors and staff, on a campus rebuilt from the ground up.
