Survival Skills Training Instructors

WHERE
* Camp Cayuga: Private, coed, nonsectarian, sleepaway camp for children ages 6-16.
* Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania. Less than 3 hours from NYC & Philadelphia.
* ACA accredited camp. Same family ownership since 1963.
 
WHEN
* This summer Mid-June to Mid-August. 
 
SURVIVAL SKILLS TRAINING INSTRUCTORS
* Individuals with high moral character, who exhibit strong teaching skills, good leadership ability, an outgoing personality, and the ability to work hard.
* Highly-motivated and suitably qualified to teach children the ancient core skills of survival - shelter, water, fire, food. 
* Instruction is geared to the camper's individual skill level, and is patient and thorough with due regard for both safety and enjoyment.
* Care for and maintain the camp's activity equipment.
* Keep the wooded site clean and neat.
* Genuinely enjoy living & working with kids on a 24-hour basis.
* Possess a good sense of humor, and the ability to laugh!
* Enforce the principles & policies, as well as the objectives & philosophy of Camp Cayuga.
* Certifications in first-aid and CPR are recommended.
 
SURVIVAL SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM
This program is 100% hands-on. Everything the campers learn, they will do! Core survival skills training includes learning how to: Build a safe shelter using only natural materials; Locate water in the wilderness and learn how to purify water without any modern tools or materials; Start a fire without using matches; Identify wild-edible plants to feed yourself in the wilderness; Read a compass and topographical map; Tell time without using a watch or clock; and Treat cuts & bruises using basic first-aid techniques. 
 
OTHER OUTDOOR ADVENTURE PROGRAMS
Rock climbing, rappelling, zip line, ATV quad riding, mountain biking, nature hikes, backpacking trips, compass reading, cabin cookouts, overnight camping, petting zoo, rafting trips, and more.
