Job Description:

Summer Analysts will work on performing credit and distressed credit strategies, across funds that collectively manage ~$64 billion of AUM.
 
Blackstone Credit: performing credit strategies focus primarily on providing private capital to upper middle market companies and private equity sponsors in connection with leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, growth financings and other corporate transactions. These strategies utilize a flexible approach when structuring investments, which may include senior debt (secured and unsecured), subordinated debt, preferred stock and/or private equity. Candidates will develop both deep quantitative and qualitative skills through the investment process and will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of industries and investment types.

Blackstone Credit: distressed credit strategies focus primarily on providing private capital solutions to companies that would otherwise be unavailable in the public markets and investing in event-driven or other special situations opportunities through the public markets. Across both private and public opportunities, the group evaluates companies in various stages of distress, as well as non-distressed situations with complexity or idiosyncratic risk. The group utilizes a flexible approach when evaluating and structuring investments, which may include senior debt (secured and unsecured), subordinated debt, preferred stock and/or private and common equity. As a result of the breadth of the experience and the flexible investment mandates, candidates will develop a unique understanding of markets, companies and capital structures.

Responsibilities:

Summer analysts in Blackstone Credit will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the investment process from origination to deal closing. Responsibilities will include financial analysis, assistance in the execution of transactions (including meeting and interacting with management teams as part of the due diligence process), industry research and competitive analysis, and drafting of memoranda for internal and external use.
