Summer Marketing Assistant (bilingual)

Deep in the North Woods of Minnesota, Concordia Language Villages creates a place that is both culturally authentic and uniquely our own. Everyone—from Ph.D-level instructors with years of language-teaching experience, to former villagers returning as counselors for the first time—brings a unique expertise in language and culture.
MARKETING ASSISTANT & SENIOR COUNSELOR (residential or online):
-Coordinate with the Village dean and other Language Community members to develop a plan for Language Community marketing efforts for both summer and academic-year calendars
-Develop mailings, e-communications, special campaigns (birthday greetings, postcards from kids to parents, etc)
-Create materials for marketing efforts, including videos, testimonials, and photos of summer villagers, staff and families
-Establish effective communication tools and structure to actively engage alumni in support of villager enrollment efforts
-Develop calendar and materials for blogging and other social media communications with other summer Village staff; and determine staging/release throughout the upcoming enrollment season
-Suggest and process concrete recommendations and requests for Web page enhancements
-Coordinate activities of this position with those of the Village Blogger and the Family Liaison to present mutually aware and integrated messaging and content for communications with villager families, alumni and other stakeholders
-Work under direction of dean and designated leadership staff members as part of counseling team.
-Assume counseling duties for individual house/cabin and other appropriate groups; assume lead counselor duties as appropriate.
-Participate in language instruction in both large-and small-group formats; assume leadership as appropriate.
-Lead and assist with activities as assigned; participate in all Village programs.
-Create a physically and emotionally safe environment in which participants ("villagers") feel accepted by staff and peers.
-Be attentive to supervising villagers at all times; assume leadership as appropriate.
-Motivate villagers to participate actively in the target language and culture (in the community setting).
-Assist with the development of evening programs and cultural presentations; assume leadership as appropriate.
-Assist with supervising credit villagers during interim weekend as required.
-Complete villager progress reports to be sent to parents.
-Manage villager groups to promote safety, minimize injury/illness and meet developmental needs.
Positions available in 14 languages (Arabic, Chinese, Danish, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish) for Summer 2021 in counseling, teaching, culinary arts and health care.
