Duties and Responsibilities:
●    Assist with planning programs, such as SWAG, service immersion trips, MLK Service Challenge, Poverty & Privilege Week, and Alternative Breaks
●    Maintain an ongoing relationship with community partners
●    Coordinate and assist with office-wide events
●    Promote a positive brand for the office by maintaining the CLSJE social media sites, promoting events, creating flyers, and tabling
●    Compile assessment data
●    Manage online forms
●    Provide general administrative support, such as filing and maintaining an inventory of supplies
●    Option to join CLSJE planning committees
●    Other duties as assigned
 
The Community Learning & Engagement Student Worker will learn how to…
 
●    Think creatively and flexibly in order to solve problems as they arise.
●    Work collaboratively with other members of CLSJE & the Student Engagement Unit.
●    Effectively market and advertise an event.
●    Plan, coordinate, and implement an event.
●    Compile assessment data.
●    To manage multiple responsibilities at one time.
 
Qualifications:
●    Dependable
●    Comfortable working with diverse populations
●    Detail-oriented
●    Motivated to work independently
●    Comfortable working outdoors
●    Ability to perform some physical labor
●    Familiarity with Microsoft Office
●    Knowledge and comfortable using various social media platforms
●    Strong written & verbal communication skills
●    Available for some nights and weekends
 
Evaluation Plan:
Work study students will be required to fill out a Weekly Status Report detailing their progress on various projects. Further, work study students will meet weekly with supervisors to ensure the experience aligns with position learning outcomes, individual interests, and departmental priorities. A formal evaluation process will be completed on a semesterly basis.
