Technical Writing Intern - Biochemistry Lab

Flex your Technical Writing muscles with the Colorado Department of Agriculture's Biochemistry lab!

Improve Scopes of Work (SOPs): Review existing SOPs to convert them into a uniform template, ensuring consistent fonts, section headers, numbering, and document control metadata.

Optimize Policies & Procedures: Read through lab policies and procedures to identify redundant information and fix logical flow issues. Work with the Quality Assurance Officer and Lab Manager to simplify complex phrasing without compromising compliance or safety standards.

Audit Documentation: Conduct systematic audits of laboratory logs (e.g., equipment calibration, temperature tracking, maintenance logs, and standard/reagent/media prep logs) to check for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with quality protocols.

Support Inventory Management: Assist with taking a comprehensive physical inventory of reagents, consumables, and equipment; cross-reference physical stock against existing electronic inventory records; and flag expired or low-stock items.

Please note: While preferable, this intern does not necessarily need to bepursuing a science degree. Experience and comfortability with Microsoft Word preferred.
