VP of finance and Treasury
The Opportunity
A confidential, privately held, multi-entity organization is seeking a senior finance leader to direct treasury, liquidity planning, financial forecasting, banking and debt strategy, portfolio reporting, intercompany governance, enterprise controls, and executive decision support. This position will translate complex financial information into clear choices and timely action before risks become urgent.
The successful candidate will lead through an established senior accounting function. The role is designed for strategic oversight, disciplined forecasting, sound controls, and effective leadership across multiple entities—not routine transaction processing.
Primary Responsibilities
Own and maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast and consolidated liquidity view across designated entities.
Monitor cash, borrowing availability, debt service, payroll, taxes, critical obligations, and expected receipts.
Establish minimum-liquidity thresholds and early-warning indicators, and present recommended actions with clear decision deadlines.
Lead banking and lender relationships, covenant reporting, credit renewals, financing analysis, and capital-structure recommendations.
Recommend payment priorities, funding actions, and intercompany transfers within approved authority and documented legal and tax parameters.
Lead annual planning, rolling forecasts, scenario modeling, and capital-allocation analysis.
Connect revenue activity, customer billing and collections, labor, purchasing commitments, margins, and overhead into practical forecasts.
Deliver concise weekly and monthly reporting that explains performance, cash impact, emerging risks, required decisions, and accountable owners.
Leadership, Controls & Governance
Lead and hold the senior accounting function accountable for timely closes, reliable financial statements, reconciliations, and transactional controls.
Set finance policies, reporting calendars, forecast standards, bank-access rules, payment controls, and segregation-of-duties expectations.
Review payment batches and material exceptions while maintaining dual-authorization and approval controls.
Maintain entity-level and consolidated views of cash, debt, obligations, capital needs, intercompany balances, and financial exposure.
Coordinate audits, tax planning, insurance and lender diligence, fraud prevention, and remediation of control deficiencies.
Serve as a candid, solutions-focused advisor to senior leadership, ownership, lenders, professional advisors, and operating leaders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
Ten or more years of progressive finance leadership, including meaningful ownership of treasury, forecasting, banking, working capital, and executive decision support.
Demonstrated success leading a Controller or senior accounting team in a privately held, multi-entity, or similarly complex operating environment.
Strong command of credit facilities, debt, cash controls, intercompany activity, scenario modeling, and financial risk.
Advanced Excel and financial-modeling capability, with experience using ERP and banking platforms.
Executive presence, sound judgment, high integrity, discretion, and the ability to communicate directly with senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CTP, CMA, MBA, or comparable advanced credential.
Experience supporting affiliated entities, leveraged operations, turnarounds, or significant cash volatility.
Experience improving treasury, reporting, or control processes across multiple business units or legal entities.
Leadership Profile
This position requires a steady, practical executive who can work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-changing environment. The strongest candidate will remain composed during direct conversations, challenge assumptions respectfully, protect financial and ethical boundaries, prioritize through competing demands, and follow through with measurable results.
