Job Title: DJ Assistant
Company: For The People Entertainment (FTP)
Location: Milwaukee, WI

About the Role
For The People Entertainment is looking for a DJ Assistant to support our team at weddings, corporate events, and all other event types. This is a hands-on role. you'll be in the room, helping events run smoothly and learning the entertainment business from the ground up.  You'll have hands on training, plus apprenticeship to learn the ropes before being promoted to DJ.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and transport before/after events
  • Support the DJ during live events (cueing music, managing requests, troubleshooting sound/lighting issues)
  • Help coordinate event timelines with clients, venues, and vendors
  • Monitor crowd energy and communicate with the DJ to keep the night on track
  • Maintain and organize DJ gear, cables, and equipment inventory
  • Occasionally assist with load-in for special events
  • Occasional trade show attendance/sales opportunity
  • sales calls, sales emails, and equipment maintenance/repair. 

Qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working nights/weekends (events happen when others are off)
  • Must have a reliable vehicle/valid drivers license
  • Strong communication skills and a calm presence under pressure
  • Interest in music, events, or the entertainment industry
  • Physically able to lift and transport equipment
  • No DJ experience required, just a willingness to learn and a great attitude
