USA TODAY Election Night Reporter

USA TODAY is currently recruiting election-night Reporters across Wyoming for the 2026 General Election on November 3rd. Reporters will visit a local polling place or County office and report unofficial election night results to USA TODAY as they are released.

This is a paid, nonpartisan role focused solely on collecting and transmitting official election results quickly and accurately. It is a great opportunity to participate in the election process and help ensure timely reporting of results.

Position Details
- Locations: Available across the state (If you're interested we likely have a position available near you!)
- Date: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
- Hours: 7:45 pm until final results are released

Responsibilities
- Report official election results using a smartphone on our web-based reporting system
- Remain on site to provide updates on result releases
- Communicate with election officials as needed
- Attend a brief mandatory training and rehearsal before Election Day that will cover how to report results, interact with election officials, and receive payment

This position typically takes around 4 hours but could go longer, and Reporters should be prepared to stay until the election official indicates that no more results will be released that evening, or until your Coordinator dismisses you. The potential to become a regular election night Reporter is very high, so long as the job is done well.
